TEN Training Changes Lives
The world over, pastors and church leaders need solid training to do their jobs well. Kilauli Ngandi, a pastor who attended our seminars in Orientale province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) tells us how TEN training has impacted his life.
This is the first time for me to attend to this kind of practical training, and I have benefited from many new things in all the modules taught. I have been encouraged by two teachings:
First, I used to think that becoming a Christian was enough, since I had salvation. I was happy to see people converted by believing in Jesus Christ, and for me, the hard work was done because they were now saved. However, when I followed the module on MAKING DISCIPLES, I realized that the Lord wants disciples and not just "simple Mondimi" believers. It's not enough to be saved; we still have the mandate to live like Christ and make him known to every human being everywhere.
Secondly, the PASTORAL MINISTRY module reminded me of my responsibilities as a pastor, but it also taught me what God expects of me as his servant and what the faithful expect of me as their Pastor.
These teachings helped me to rectify certain things in my personal life as a Christian and as a Pastor. I also needed to review my relationship with my family and particularly with my wife.
I am the Community Superintendent of churches in my region. As a result of TEN training, I resolved to faithfully transmit these teachings to the pastors within my jurisdiction and invite them to the upcoming TEN-RTF sessions. I am aware that the members of my community are waiting to see my transformation so that they too can be transformed. I'm committed to working in this direction.
I hope that such training sessions will be frequent, and that TEN-RTF will continue to build capacity and teach all the modules, if possible, even in other parts of the region, because there really is a great need for teaching God's servants.
In the last fiscal year, TEN held 70 seminars in DRC at 42 different locations spread across all the provinces. Four thousand three hundred and sixty-two (4362) people attended the seminars.
